The roast dinner is a classic British dish that's easier to cook than you think. Impress your mates with this delicious recipe. 

INGREDIENTS

Whole chicken

Potatoes

Parsnips

Broccoli

Carrots

Stuffing mix

Apricots

Gravy granules

STEP 01

To cook the whole chicken:

Wash. Cover with oil.

Season with salt and pepper.

Place in baking tray with foil on top.

Place in oven for 1 hour 30 - 2 hours.

Oven temperature: 180 degrees C.

STEP 02

 

To cook the chicken breast and legs:

Cut desired pieces of chicken.

Wash. Cover with oil.

Season with salt and pepper.

Place in baking tray with foil on top.

Place in oven for 35 - 50 minutes.

Oven temperature: 180 degrees C.

STEP 03

To cook the potatoes:

Cut, peel and wash.

Boil for 8 minutes.

Drain and bash to soften.

Place in roasting tray. Season with salt, pepper, and sprigs of fresh thyme.

Place in oven for 45 minutes.

Oven temperature: 180 degrees C.

STEP 04

To cook the parsnips:

Cut, peel and wash.

Boil for 5 minutes.

Place in roasting tray and add butter and honey.

Place in oven for 20-30 minutes.

Oven temperature: 180 - 200 degrees C.

STEP 05

To prepare the carrots and broccoli:

Wash the vegetables. Cut the carrots.

Boil for 8 - 10 minutes.

STEP 06

To make the stuffing:

Add stuffing mix to a bowl. Add apricots. Add boiling water.

Mix ingredients together.

Leave to cool.

Roll into balls.

Place in oven for 45-60 minutes.

Oven temperature: 180 - 200 degrees C.

STEP 07

To make the gravy:

Large spoon of gravy granules.

Simply mix with boiling water. Add more for thicker gravy.
